The Night Ritual
I, Moon, want to tell you about a ritual I witnessed in the quietest hour of the night.
I remember seeing scattered artisans across Italy who, without knowing each other, awakened at the same hour in the early morning. They all felt the same calling under my light. In Tuscany, Veneto, Padua, and London, they began working at the same time, as if an invisible energy connected them.
They possessed the power to awaken sleeping textiles. They took forgotten wool and, through rituals invoked under my glow, brought it back to life.
I watched those textiles be reborn: first as threads that absorbed my essence, then as fabrics that breathed with sacred purpose.
In Padua, an old man carved walnut buttons while chanting ancient invocations.
Each piece they completed bore the protection of my light engraved upon it, to seal the essence of the people who would wear them.
In Veneto, a family spun organic cotton using the same techniques their ancestors had learned from the lunar cycles.
They all worked with the certainty of creating something more than clothing. They were guardians of human essence, garments that would protect the true soul of whoever wore them.
When the ritual ended at dawn, the garments had absorbed my protective power. They had woven my waning energy into every fiber, ensuring that whoever wore them would keep their essence intact, regardless of the outside world.
Now they wait for their chosen ones, people who understand that they carry more than warmth with them: they bear shields for the soul.
Process
This month, we’re introducing a new collaboration with Sono, the independent and sustainable British fashion brand created by Stephanie Oberg and Simon Homes. This is a label that has been with us since the beginning and one we continue to invite because of their approach to fashion and design.
On this occasion, we have selected pieces from their fall-winter 2025 collection that reflect the constant evolution of their philosophy: creating clothing that endures both in its style and in the emotional connection it generates with those who wear it.
This collection represents a new chapter in Stephanie and Simon’s ongoing quest to demonstrate that “it’s possible to create and manufacture designer clothing within the seasonal structure without compromises at any level.”
As they have always stated: “True sustainability comes when you buy something and it lasts a lifetime. That is our goal.”
For fall-winter 2025, the designers have deepened their utilitarian approach while never losing sight of beauty. “We want to make pieces that people are passionate about wearing and want to keep,” they explain.
This season presents wide, functional silhouettes: overshirts with jacket-style construction, oversized joggers with curved cuts, high-waisted jeans with large back pockets, and bomber jackets with full lining.
The materials tell stories of regeneration and care. For example, the JAH jeans are made from 100% organic cotton denim that is untreated and unbleached, woven in Italy’s Lombardy region and dyed with natural pigments in London through a clean water process.
The JAMIE joggers and BO bomber use 100% recycled wool, woven in Tuscany from unwanted knitwear that is washed, shredded, and respun.
“We have a responsible and holistic design process that cannot overlook any element, from growing the raw materials and the origin of each component, to the people who sew each garment,” the designers reaffirm. Every corozo nut button carved in Padua, Italy, every galvanization-free Swiss recycled brass zipper, every organic cotton lining, responds to this philosophy.
The JAKO jumper combines 70% organic wool with 30% superfine alpaca, spun in Biella, Italy, using 100% green hydroelectric energy. The JOJO jacket blends linen and wool, while the SHAKA shirt is made from brushed organic cotton twill, woven exclusively for Sono by a small family mill in Veneto.
“Faced with rising raw material costs, most designers turn to cheaper alternatives. We believe we must consume more responsibly, buying only what we truly love and feel genuine passion for,” Stephanie and Simon reflect on this new offering.
This season’s palette speaks in earth tones, stone, and black, with dark accents that recall their constant search for colors that age with dignity. These are pieces designed to work together and build upon what already exists in the wardrobe, following their philosophy of “understanding pieces as if they were bricks placed on what has already been built.”
This new collaboration reaffirms why we continue to be drawn to Sono’s vision: because they have found a way to do things their way, responsibly and consciously, reminding us that another way of dressing is possible.
