This is how Europe uses taxes to curb fast fashion

Until 2021, millions of packages from platforms like Shein or Temu arrived in Europe without paying VAT if they cost less than 22 euros.

Did you know that making a single cotton T-shirt requires about 2,700 liters of water—the same amount a person would drink in nearly three years? So-called fast fashion offers us cheap, trendy clothing, but it also generates 12 kilos of textile waste per person per year in Europe, and only about 1% is recycled into new garments.
